Tanzania hiking and B&B stay – New for 2017!

We are excited to announce a new experience for 2017 – a stay in a traditional Tanzanian village home in Kamachumu, the heart of Africa! We are offering the opportunity to stay on a bed and breakfast basis in a lovely home which once belonged to our wonderful father,Ta mwalimu Augustine

Kamachumu is a beautiful high altitude village in which you will experience calm African village life and times gone by. You will wake up to the sound of the birds every morning, collect fresh eggs for breakfast and meet the very friendly locals as you explore the ancient sights and traditions of this historic scenic escarpment. Walkers and hikers love to stay here!

Augustine House is a private, modern European styled house, 75 km from Bukoba town in the Kagera region (western Tanzania). It is set in a banana and coffee plantation typical of homes in bahaya culture. The home has five bedrooms (three with toilet and shower ensuite) and can accommodate up to eight people comfortably. It costs USD$35 per person per day for Bed and Breakfast (evening meals can also be freshly cooked at an additional price), and camping is available at USD$5 per person per day (bring your own tent!).

With warm, fresh air gently blowing in from Lake Victoria, and beautiful streams and waterfalls just a short walk away, we promise you a unique, relaxing ‘home from home’ experience like no other.
