Fashion Designer Tour merges Chinese and African Cultures

At Kiroyera Tours, we are always honoured to host clients from all over the world and show them our wonderful country. Last month we had the privilege to be asked to organise the third stop in the “International Young Fashion Designers Showcase Tour” when it landed in Tanzania (earlier destinations were Iceland and Panama).

The tour aims to provide a platform for young fashion designers to showcase their works on a global stage; and is in support of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) launched by the Chinese Government to promote trade, infrastructure and networking amongst countries worldwide.

The tour initiator is Dr Annie Suk Ching Wu, Honorary Consul of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Hong Kong Administrative Region. Dr Wu is a travel business pioneer and an inspirational leader who is passionate about promoting communication and trade between different cultures. During her stay in Tanzania, she endorsed Dar es Salaam as “an amazing and vibrant city filled with exotic and vivacious fashion” and felt “inspired by this resourceful and ample city.”

Working alongside PR Network of Honk Kong, Kiroyera Tours assisted in the organisation of airport transfers, hotels, meals, transport, photographic shoots and local tours for the 33 strong party during their 7 day stay. This included supporting arrangements for the specular gala fashion show held at the Hyatt Regency which featured the unique collections of 11 talented international young fashion designers (including Kemi Kalikawe from Tanzania); and a exciting 2 day safari into Mikumi National Park, the 5th largest in Tanzania.

Mikumi is just a 4 hour drive from Dar es Salaam and lies North of the famous Selous Game Reserve. It is home to a spectacular variety of animals including: four of the big five (elephant, buffalo, Lion and Leopard), the worlds’ largest Antelope (the Eland), waterbuck, African hunting dogs and over 400 species of bird! The park offers daytime jeep, walking and night tours to suit any traveller requirement, and the opportunity to get up close to the amazing wildlife.

The tour group loved their stay in Tanzania and we enjoyed very much meeting and organising such an inspirational, friendly and creative group of clients. Everyone at Kiroyera Tours wishes this tour group continued success for the future and as they move onto the final leg of their tour in Zhuhai, mainland China.
