Your big Five Safari starts in Mwanza – if required, we can arrange your journey by plane, boat or coach to Mwanza and overnight accommodation. You will be picked up by our driver guide in the morning and driven into the Serengeti National Park (the name Serengeti comes from the Masai word “Siringet” referring to an endless plain). It is the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world and boasts many species of plain animals from hare to elephant! Viewing game on route, you will drive via Grumet River to your overnight camp site in the heart of the park.

After breakfast you will begin another full day game drive. If it is the right time of year you may witness the great wildebeest migration, one of natures greatest spectacles.

After breakfast you will take your final game drive in the Serengeti. After lunch we drive to Ngorongoro, stopping on the way at a Masai village and school before visiting Olduvai Gorge where anthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey made a discovery contributing to the theory that human life originated in Africa. Overnight at Simba camping site with panoramic views.

Ngorongoro, often described as one of the wonders of the world and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, is a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is also one of the few places you see the rare black rhino in their natural setting. You will descend into the crater floor for an early afternoon tour before driving to Lake Manyara to overnight.

After breakfast you will drive into this superb scenic park set around Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara is a birdwatcher’s paradise with a variety of species including spoonbill, teal, pelican, kingfisher, hornbill and cormorant. In the tall trees you will see forest monkeys leap from branch to branch and elephants stand in the shade of the baobab – Memories to saviour forever. At the end of the day you will be driven to Arusha to end the tour
