This region is to the far north of Tanzania (west of Lake Victoria and south of Uganda) is considered to be the loveliest place in Tanzania. It is where you will experience the true heart and soul of Africa!

Our tour gives you an insight into the ancient heritage of Tanzania – the rock art of Mugana and Kaajai, the pillars of the Kamachumu escarpment, Mushonge Museum, the palace of Kanazi and the world’s first iron production site (500 years BC) found at Katuruka. You will hear stories of our traditional hierarchical rulers and walk in the footsteps of those who reigned long before other cultures came to our shores.

You will also experience our greatest jewel, Lake Victoria – its role in our history, its place in modern day life, its spectacular bird life and its unique Islands including Africa’s only island based national park, Rubondo Island National Park. This unique national park lies only two hours away from Bukoba and encompasses a staggering variety of habitats and wildlife from indigenous birds to Nile fresh water fish; from to hippos to elephants and chimpanzees!
